Jilted Raikhad lover distributes fake engagement invites to avenge rejection

A Raikhad man spurned by the girl of his dreams distributed fake engagement invites in the names of the girl’s parents, claiming she was getting engaged to him on July 26.A complaint has been filed by the girl’s family at Satellite police station against the jilted lover, Sesil Christian, 33, a resident of Christian Colony.The complaint claims Christian had proposed marriage to the girl, residing in Satellite, almost a month ago. When the girl rejected his proposal, he got the engagement invites printed and distributed.The invites mentioned the girl’s parents as hosts of a ring ceremony between Sesil and their daughter, and were sent to the pastors of various churches in the city.
This was done about a week ago.When one of the pastors known to the girl’s family enquired about the ring ceremony, the girl’s parents were shocked. The girl then said how Sesil, a divorcee, was pursuing her for the past two years, and how she had rejected his advances time and again.
MET THROUGH ORKUT
The girl, aged 23, said she was contacted by Sesil through Orkut, where he saw her profile. He claimed to be a friend of a cousin of the girl, she said, and after a few months of online friendship, they began meeting.In her complaint, the girl has claimed that she initially considered Sesil as a friend and nothing more. However, when she realised he wanted to take their relationship deeper, she began avoiding him.
INNOCENT?
On his part, Sesil has claimed that he has claimed that he has nothing to do with the ring ceremony invites. He doesn’t even know who published his name on them, he further said.“It seems that I am a victim of some conspiracy. Somebody is trying to land me in a huge spot of bother. I know the girl for the past two years, but I have never tried to harm her, or anybody for that matter. I am being framed,” he said.
The girl is buying none of Sesil’s arguments. She said, “He has been stalking me for some time now. He is a liar, and he is the one who has got these fake engagement cards published.”
